She assists pet owners to promote optimal performance and health in pets without fear or force, and treats humans with Reiki and Flower Essence Therapy to help them achieve optimum mental, emotional and physical balance and to better connect to their higher purpose and their own spirituality.  In the article that follows,  Bobbi reveals a little bit about her approach to people and pets and how her love of life gradually culminated in starting her own business.

'WHEN I WAS growing up in New York City, I didn't know anything about animals. But I moved to Long Island as a child, we had a dog and I fed the squirrels...my first introduction to animals and to my connection with nature and natural energy and communication.   In college, I took a course in psychology and was assigned an albino lab rat to study. At the end of the course, the professor told the class, "If you do not keep your rat, it will be put to sleep."

Needless to say, I kept Crawler, my own four-inch rat with a tail twice as long. Crawler came with me everywhere and slept on my neck. He came with me when I was a counselor at Girl Scout Camp and I used him for "Show and Tell" sessions. Crawler would eat through his cardboard box and end up on my bed on my pillow or underneath my blanket.

Those are fond memories.  But, I also have sad memories when I think of Crawler, because at that time I did not know that albino rats needed protection from the sun.  Still, Crawler had a very positive influence on my life, because he taught me how to care for others and how to connect to even the smallest being.

When I was living in a second-story apartment, a good friend brought me a "present" -- a black-and-white cat I named Angie. Angie taught me how resourceful a cat could be.  One day when I was gone too long, she pushed out one of the window screens and climbed across the roof, and down a tree to go exploring.

This became her routine and she would knock on the window if it was closed.  Even though Angie was reserved, she taught me that as independent as cats might be, they still needed care, attention and time. I learned how to play with Angie and I bonded with her.

As Angie got older I noticed that she started to lose weight, and was losing some of her fur. My vet could not find anything wrong with her.

A short time later my neighbor found her lifeless body underneath his car.  I felt helpless that I was unable to find out what was wrong with her and help her with her problem, and I vowed to learn more about how to do this.  I also found another vet!

It was around this time that I became very interested in learning about healing work. As I started to learn and experience the work of both Shiatsu and Reiki, I went through a personal transformation in my own life. I felt a deep sense of compassion for all of life...animals, people and all living things.   I felt energized and renewed when I spent time in nature.  I delighted in spotting deer, chipmunks, birds and geese and in watching how they lived and interacted with each other and with nature.

When I moved into my first house, I felt compelled to feed all the animals -- large and small.  That included the birds, squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, stray and feral cats as well as my own cats. The raccoons would eat the leftover cat food.

Feeding the animals was my way of "connecting" with them, and I longed to help them when they were sick or in pain.

I began to question my values and my beliefs.   I wanted to live in a way that was honest, respectful and appreciative of all the gifts that others had offered me.

After I became a Reiki Master and could teach and help heal with Reiki, I realized that I could also take my experience with Crawler and Angie and expand my healing to animals, to honor the memory of the animals I had lived with and loved dearly.

I searched for a way to make this happen. Through a series of coincidences, I found out about Tellington TTouch and immediately enrolled in the two-year program.

Even though I now work directly with animals, I have not lost my connection to their owners and to the people that I continue to assist with their own healing.  By using Reiki on people and pets and through the use of Tellington Touch for animals and Flower Essence Therapy, I feel I have developed a closer connection to all living things.  I believe that my mission is to offer animals and people a chance to heal emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.'
